Because Nolu is based on a self-sustaining decentralized network, a vast majority of your premium plan contribution finds its way directly to your favorite publishers, helping them to keep doing what they do best, creating meaningful and engaging content around the topics you care about most.
You can pay using a crypto wallet and a variety of crypto tokens. The protocol currently accepts USDC (Noble), ATOM, or OSMO.
Nolu is a decentralized application that is based on blockchain technology. This means you can pay using cryptocurrencies and publishers and other contributors are rewarded in cryptocurrencies as well. This all happens automatically through the protocol.
When you buy or extend your premium plan, your membership will be in your wallet as an NFT. While you generally won't notice the difference compared to traditional membbership plans, this approach has several unique benefits:
- Your subscription is fully owned by you and exists in your wallet, not on any server.
- You can re-sell your subscription on an NFT marketplace if you no longer need it.
- Your NFT can also be used for additional use-cases such as access to exclusive offers or as a ticket to events.
You will need a Cosmos-compatible wallet to create your account and store your subscription NFT.
Your premium plan is billed per year and send to your wallet as an NFT. You can renew your membership every 12 months or choose to not renew your premium plan.
Because of Nolu's unique membership model, you are also able to re-sell your membership NFT at any time if you no longer need it. So while there is no direct refund for a membership plan that you already purchased, you have the freedom to sell it on an NFT market of your choice at any time.
To access Nolu you need a compatible (crypto) wallet. You can also sign-in using your Google or Apple account and Nolu will automatically create a wallet for you. Nolu connects to your wallet to verify your decentralized account and optional premium membership. Nolu never has direct access to the funds in your wallet.

Ads and premium plans help to reward your favorite publishers so they can keep publishing. A vast majority of the revenue generated through ads and premium plans finds its way to the publishers.
Nolu has a strict ads policy and strives to only show meaningful and minimally invasive ads. If you prefer not to see any ads at all, the Premium Plus plan is for you! This plan allows you to disable ads and covers the revenue publishers otherwise would have received through ads.
